LOGAN SINCLAIR CREATE

We believe our role as a business is more than making a profit. We want to use our platform to promote unheard voices, support our community and promote ideas and discussion around inclusion, diversity and equity. For this reason, in 2018 we founded Logan Sinclair Create to help us make our beliefs a reality.

We do this by creating content and arranging events that allow us to use our platform to share the messages and ideas that we feel matter to the communities we serve.

 

 

OUR WORK

Inclusion, Diversity and Equity

We believe our role as a business is more than making a profit. Our role in finding and promoting talent is central in improving inclusion, diversity and equity within the businesses we serve. We have set ourselves stretching targets and are asking more of our clients as well as using our platform to promote unheard voices and be a force for social justice. 

Logan Sinclair Search is dedicated to the promotion of inclusion, diversity and equity across our business. We want to empower our clients to create the change for equality that is needed in our industry and we believe diverse teams outperform and that for too long this fact has been ignored. 

Financial services has to become more representative of the society it serves and we’re an eager ally to anyone who shares this view. In order to achieve this change we have to all work hard at breaking down the processes and thinking that promote bias, unconscious or not and we at Logan Sinclair have to exhibit the diversity we want to see. We’re committed to this and have put in place a number of initiatives to achieve this. We believe that as a boutique, our size and agility enables us to put these priorities front and centre and ensure this is executed, a privilege our larger peers don’t enjoy.

OUR GOALS

As we ended 2022, we realised the need to set ourselves goals rather than just pay lip service to the importance of these topics. We therefore set ourselves the following ambitious goals to achieve in 2023 and beyond:

  • We aim for women to comprise 50% of all our UK and EMEA hires and are actively working to create job shortlists for clients that are 50/50 male and female

  • On retained exclusive searches we aim for final candidate interviews for all to be minimum 65% female and/or ethnically/racially diverse or from other underrepresented groups e.g. disabled, LGBTQIA

  • We aim for at least 50% of the team within Logan Sinclair to be female and/or ethnically/racially diverse or from other underrepresented groups e.g. disabled, LGBTQIA+

  • We aim for at least 75% of our clients to use 'blind recruitment'. This involves anonymising candidate profiles (name, photo) upon submission until they are invited in for interview, to reduce any unconscious bias

  • We aim to donate 1% of our annual turnover to a charity partner who is helping to promote causes, people or voices in the area of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity

 

 

EVENTS AND WORK

Ministry of Arts

We teamed up with local brain injury charity Headway East London and Gary Mansfield to create an exhibition of art showcasing unheard voices. The art in the exhibition was inspired by these people’s experiences, whether this was suffering a brain injury or spending time inside prison. The goal was to give a voice to those who aren’t always heard and bring together our clients in financial services with their ideas to improve the dialogue around inclusion, diversity and equity.

podcasts

Our founder Ben Burling has curated his own podcast series, The Person First. Here we aimed to speak to a diverse cross section of society with everyone from our clients, diversity campaigners and celebrities taking part. We wanted people to share their stories and lives and help us all learn about their ideas around inclusion, diversity and equity.
